Refund Policy
Pamoja's refund policy is built on one principle: if the platform is not working for you, money should not be a trap. The terms below are at least as generous as those required by the South African Consumer Protection Act, and never less.

1. The 7-day cooling-off right
Under section 16 of the South African Consumer Protection Act, every purchase made on this platform is a distance sale. You may cancel without reason within seven (7) calendar days of purchase and receive a full refund of the purchase price.
Email [email protected] with your order reference and we will process the refund within 5 business days, paid back to the same payment method used.
2. Module Taster (R 299)
The Taster is a 30-day, single-module trial. Refundable in full within the first 7 days. After that no refund is due, but the R 299 you paid converts into a discount credit applied automatically to your Pathway purchase if completed within 30 days of the original Taster purchase.
3. Pathway, Bundle & Verified Credential
- Within 7 days of purchase — full refund, no questions asked.
- Days 8–30 of purchase — pro-rata refund only if (a) you have completed less than 25 % of Phase 1, AND (b) the platform has been demonstrably unavailable to you for more than 24 hours cumulatively.
- After 30 days — no refund is due, except where required by law (e.g. material breach by us).
4. Sponsored seats & B2B cohorts
Where seats are paid for by an employer, SETA, NPO, government department or other sponsor, refund and re-issue terms are governed by the signed sponsorship contract, not this policy. Where the contract is silent, this policy applies as a fallback.
5. Scholarship application as an alternative to refund
If you have purchased a Pathway and your financial circumstances change such that the cost is now a hardship, you may apply at /scholarships for a retrospective scholarship. If approved, we refund the difference between the price you paid and the scholarship-adjusted price for which you would have qualified at the time of purchase.
6. Chargebacks
Please write to us before raising a chargeback with your bank or card issuer. We routinely resolve genuine concerns by refund within 5 business days. Chargebacks raised without first contacting us are flagged for fraud review and may result in account suspension under section 6 of our Terms of Service.
7. Refunds we will not pay
We do not refund where the account has been suspended for academic-integrity violations, content scraping, payment fraud, or impersonation. We do not refund any portion of a Verified Credential add-on once the proctored exam has been attempted, regardless of outcome.
8. How to request a refund
- Email [email protected] from the same email address used to purchase.
- Include your order reference, the date of purchase, and a one-line reason (a reason is not required within 7 days).
- We acknowledge within 1 business day and refund within 5 business days where eligible.
- If you disagree with our decision, escalate to our Information Officer at [email protected], or to the National Consumer Commission of South Africa.
